People Really Get On My Nerves

You know how that person has that one character trait that just sends you over the edge? That one friend whose constant unhappiness and negativity make you want to scream?  How about the always happy one, bragging about life and its ups (as she has no concept of downs)? Don’t forget Ms. Nosy, Mrs. Control Freak (Present!), or Miss I’m-Better-Than-You. Don’t forget No-Backbone Betty, Airhead Amanda, or No-Regard-for-Nobody Nancy! People really get on my nerves.

You can love a friend with all your heart and still want to punch them in the face sometimes.  People are people and guess what?  People have to deal with YOU just as much as you have to deal with them.  I am proud to say I have finally took the fork in the road that led me to seeing the good in all my family and friends and when I occasionally make a U-Turn to dwell on the things about people that bother me, I quickly turn back and remember to acknowledge their sincerity, generosity, love, and loyalty over any negative points.  It’s not easy—sometimes people give you every reason to give up on them or put a “kick me” post-it on their forehead because sometimes it’s what we feel they deserve—but the bottom line is, people are people. Nobody is exempt from being human, having flaws, fears, and failures.  People are people and at the end of the day, individuality is a beautiful thing. Embrace the person you are because God made you that way. Put up with others. After all, they put up with you.
